The Most Expensive Home in Franklin, TN

Just $1 shy of $14 Million.

As many of you know (or should know) the prices of homes in Franklin has skyrocketed. Needless to say, if you've been thinking of selling, now is the time. (Shameless plug, the real estate team of Jane Campbell is the sponsor of this article and are amazing to work with)

My own home that I purchased for $330,000 in 2016, is now valued at over $550,000 and could rake in even more if sold today. With very little inventory and HUGE demand, buyers are throwing lots of over-asking offers out there, offering lots of cash and anything to secure a home in the Middle Tennessee area. Hey, we aren't the only ones who know how great it is to live here now...the word is out. Sorry.

As a hobby, I love to do home searches and should I win the Lottery tomorrow (which I won't because I don't play it) I will be purchasing this jaw-dropping home.

It is being listed for $13,999,999, at $1,111 per square foot.

You country music fans will love the fact that this was the custom home of Kenny Chesney. His Franklin, Tennessee, estate sprawls over 56 acres. This home is like nothing I have ever seen, and I have lived in Tuscany where this home's inspiration was sought from. Called Bella Luce, Italian for “beautiful light,” it was designed by local Nashville architect Brad Norris, who was given free rein by builder Jimmy Franks of Old South Construction to use some of the most authentic materials available.

For the exterior walls, he specified 150-year-old brick and carved stone, along with Santa Fe clay barrel tiles for the multitude of roofs. Inside, it’s all rich, reclaimed walnut floors, hand-carved Mesquite-wood doors and massive cedar and Douglas fir exposed wood beams.

Naturally, for such a high-profile artist like Chesney, the original appeal of the property was no doubt its security and privacy. Imposing gates off Franklin’s Lake Valley Drive open to a half-mile-long driveway leading to the tree-shrouded home’s stunning, brick-paved circular motor court.

Talking of size, the home comes with over 12,000 square feet of living space spread over four, elevator-connected floors. The main ground floor includes a spectacular reception room with soaring beamed ceilings, giant wrought iron chandeliers and two 25-foot-high limestone fireplaces, one at each end of the room. An archway leads into the home’s cavernous yet cozy kitchen/dining room/family space with its huge center marble-topped island, professional-grade appliances and stone fireplace.

This ground floor level also includes the stylish master suite with huge wooden beams, vaulted ceiling and Romanesque stone pillars. Here, you’ll also find a sitting area, dressing room and French doors that open onto a private patio.

This little slice of Tuscany is less than 20 miles from downtown Nashville. While there are other large estates in the area, none have this level of character.
